Supply Chain Management
2 day (workshop) / Implementation depends on size of the company
In today's
rapidly changing business environment, increasingly greater demands are being
placed on businesses to provide products and services quicker - with greater
added value - to the correct location - with no relevant inventory position. As
the market becomes more and more competitive and global competition is the norm,
manufacturers are struggling to find ways to streamline their operations and
reduce annual operating costs. If organizations do not continually improve the
efficiency of their operations, they will no longer be able to compete in the
global market. Supply Chain Management is a new focus that manufacturers can
exploit allowing them to become leaders with the ability to effectively compete
in the global market.
The goal of Supply Chain Management is to optimize the benefits to each link in
the supply chain. Supply Chain Management allows you to optimize your
relationship with customers and suppliers by using Lean concepts, Value Stream
Mapping, and e-Business to reduce cost and inventory, while shortening total
cycle times. Customers want more quality, design, innovation, choice,
convenience, and service, and they want to spend less money, effort, time, and
risk.
The supply chain of a company consists of different departments ranging from
procurement of
materials
to customer service. Supply Chain Management means transforming a company's
supply chain into an optimally efficient and customer-satisfying process where
the effectiveness of the whole supply chain is more important than the
effectiveness of each individual department.
