Programs and Systems..

Because client issues are often unique, development plans should be tailored to meet those specific needs. We offer our clients the ability to choose a tailored approach for implementing process improvement and business transformations to developing in-house experts . Most organizations have the talent in place, but not necessarily the skills. With the proper development and guidance, your team will take over the program from us in a very short time period. Whatever your needs, we will work closely with you to develop a plan that fits your organization's budget, talent, culture, and knowledge. Below are summaries of various train-the-trainer and implementation programs we offer.

Business Operating System (BOS)

BOS is the definitive management tool needed to improve bottom-line results and build problem-solving and decision-making competency throughout the organization. It is the mechanism used to measure and track the performance of critical business and quality success factors such as supplier and product development and business and manufacturing processes. When fully operational, it will constantly measure business performance and identify areas in the company that need improvement and/or structured problem-solving efforts. The result is increased profitability, improved quality and productivity, and increased customer and employee loyalty.

Problem Resolution System (PRS)

PRS was designed to incorporate all of the elements that are necessary for a superior problem-solving and decision-making process. Each of the disciplines in the PRS build on competencies learned through classroom training, practical exercises, real-world applications, and coaching. By implementing a genuine PRS, companies will reduce the ‘fire-fighting’ mentality while encouraging an atmosphere of teamwork, forward-thinking, planning, and decision making. The disciplines incorporated into the PRS are: Root Cause Analysis, Potential Problem Analysis, Decision Analysis, Operational Appraisal, Process Mapping, Conflict Management, Team Building, Facilitating Productive Team Meetings, Error-proofing, Leading Through Change, and Coaching.

Activity Based Costing (ABC)

Through years of studies we have identified that implementing Lean into your organization while using traditional accounting methods can have very little or no effect on the bottom line. After all, reductions in waste doesn't have a direct cost; a reduction in inventory, fewer late deliveries, or a reduction in floor-space usage can all have a negative impact or no impact to the bottom-line. At GDC we have found that implementing ABC allows a company to truly assess their financial gains by associating cost to activities. All savings can be recognized immediately as we continue to identify and remove non-value added activities from your processes. Our associates will work with your accounting staff to identify the key cost drivers in your organization, breaking down direct and indirect activities into their actual components and assigning them to a product or service. In just two to five weeks (depending on size of the company), we will leave you with a system that will create a clear picture of real costs and make it possible for your workplace to strategically determine how to price each product or service. In short, implementing ABC will provide the financial metrics to prioritize and measure progress while achieving cost reduction expectations of 5-25%.

Lean Train- the-Trainer Programs

Many organizations already have the talent in place to begin the Lean journey, but proper training and mentoring is needed for these select individuals. GDC offers three levels of training; allowing you the ability to upgrade your coordinators skill sets as you see fit.

Level 1: The Basics. This Program is a 5-day, hands-on workshop designed to demonstrate the power of a Lean Business and to provide leaders/coordinators with superior deployment strategies. Participants will “transform” a simulated business into one that is able to achieve breakthrough levels of performance.

Level 2: Process Improvement Expert Training. Coordinators are taught to be Practitioners of Lean Business tools over a five month period. Individuals will participate in formal classroom training while actively working on meaningful projects. This program is designed to provide students with both a technical and practical foundation for improving business processes. Some of the major features include on-site training, learning while applying the tools to company-specific projects, and quickly achieved, measurable results.

Level 3: Master Training. This program advances your "best and brightest" students from level 2. Individuals who are selected will enter a rigorous, one-year program during which they will broaden their knowledge base, sharpen their teaching and mentoring skills, and develop their leadership skills. Participants who successfully complete the Master Training program will be certified as Lean Practitioners; able to replace our experts and continue with advanced process improvement initiatives.

PROJECT MENTORING
Some of our clients have already started the lean conversion process, but still need assistance from time to time. Others organizations just want their trained staff additional assistance in understanding best practices. We provide regular on-site support to management and/or associates to help them with project work and implementation strategies. Project mentoring allows us to focus on each candidate and/or project and provide individualized guidance.
