Leadership Skills Training
GDC’s Lean University offers both the technical
content of Lean Conversion and the Professional Skills
necessary for successful implementation. Our Lean
Leadership Skills Training focuses on interpersonal
skills as opposed to concrete skills (i.e., technical
competencies). As much as we would all like to think
that we are beyond needing business skills training, the
truth is that everyone can benefit. Managers polled in a
TIME magazine article indicated that the skills most
desired and most needed by their staff today are
listening, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Providing our clients with the opportunity to acquire
business skills along with technical skills gives them
an advantage in today's workplace.
In the workplace, business skills are as important as
technical skills in producing superior performance. Our
dynamic and interactive programs will address the unique
needs of your organization and enhance your ability to
sustain a continuous improvement journey. Unlike our
technical Lean course offerings, the Lean Leadership
courses do not have a prerequisite course roadmap to
follow, simply choose the course(s) which directly meet
your organizational needs. We have taught our courses
in various industries in both the service and
manufacturing sectors. Let GDC Lean University train
your organization in the most innovative courses
available.

OVERVIEWS
B1: Business Operating
System
(Formats 1,2,3,4*)
BOS is the definitive management tool
needed to improve bottom-line results
and build problem-solving and
decision-making competency throughout
the organization. It is the mechanism
used to measure and track the
performance of critical business and
quality success factors such as supplier
and product development and business and
manufacturing processes. When fully
operation, it will constantly measure
business performance and identify areas
in the company that need improvement
and/or structured problem-solving
efforts. The result is increased
profitability, improved quality and
productivity, and increased customer and
employee loyalty. |
B2: Strategic Planning /
SWOT (Formats 1,2*)
This is a facilitated workshop designed
for senior management. It encourages
structured brainstorming that leads to a
strategic direction by the end of the
session. The participants will review
corporate strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats (SWOT
Analysis) and design corresponding
measures that drive each initiative.
This workshop may also include the
creation of a Mission, Vision, and /or
Values statement as necessary.

Ignoring or trivializing the intrinsic
difficulties of ‘change’ can be costly
or even disastrous to a company or
department. Therefore, learning to
properly adapt to the ever-changing
present is essential for success in the
unpredictable future. This workshop
reviews the economic, technological, and
social causes of change as well as how
to successfully adapt to, or manage
each. This is particularly critical when
large, systemic changes are being
introduced, and is vital tool for all
managers. |
This is a comprehensive eight-step
problem solving process that takes the
company all the way from team formation
and initial data collection through five
different root cause analysis
approaches. It discusses verification
methods and finally team decision making
to determine corrective actions,
implementation steps, and overall
systems improvement. This course uses
case study and real-world
examples for in-depth understanding and
is recommended for all levels of
management through shop floor employees.
