In today’s business environment it is crucial to develop your ability to write documents and handle email, letters, reports and proposals quickly and with clarity.   Understanding proper word selection and what details to include in your messages will help clarify communication.  There are methods that will assist you in sounding more authoritative and persuasive, selecting an appropriate style for your audience and helping you choose an appropriate style for addressing particular issues.

 

Course Description:

This course prepares participants to compose "routine" letters, memos, and email.  Additionally, participants learn to select appropriate formats for letters, memos, and longer documents.  It teaches techniques for selecting the most effective use of headings, lists and visuals. Finally, the workshop focuses on skills in editing for conciseness, clarity, style and grammar.

 

Learning Objectives: 

Upon Completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Compose "routine" letters, memos, and email

  • Select and set up appropriate formats for reports and proposals

  • Edit others first drafts for clarity and grammatical correctness
